reflection on communicative tool
Reflection on communicative tool
Computer as a communicative tool enable
communication between the teachers and the students beyond the classroom
setting. Some examples of the communicative tools are email, electro
conferencing, facebook, wechat, Skype and others. I learned that through those
apps teaching has became easier compared olden days. Communicative tools are
categorized into namely as synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous means
where users are connected and communicating in real time through via telephone
call, chat and video conferencing. I realized that there is no need of real
time teaching where students and teacher physically present in a room. As a
teacher we should encourage students to clarify their doubt when they are out
of school if they don’t know.
Asynchronous means where users are not required to
be logged in internet at the same time. Some of the examples are email, wechat,
messenger and whatsapp. Here it is not required both the users to be online
real time communication. As a teacher should encourage the students if they
have doubt leave message even if the teacher is offline. When the other user
comes online will reply the message. It also reduces the workload of the teacher
where information is transferred through electronic gadgets. As a teacher we
should be well equipped with the technology. In a group we discussed the good
features of the social sites like wechat, facebook, Skype and others. Also
discussed how those sites help in teaching and learning.
As a facilitator should always be attentive of the
student’s progress in learning. As we are more accessed to technologies be
alert of disadvantages and advantages of the modern technologies.

reflection on informative tool
Reflection on informative tool
With
the advance of information and communication technology (ICT), people’s
everyday life, including education as its integral part, has been in a process
of dramatic change. Present trends in this world are requirement of ICT
knowledge and skills, thus making it crucial to have access to lifelong
learning. Depending on the instructional activities computers can play
different supporting role. Among five tools one is informative tool.
Informative tools are applications which provides vast amount of information in
various formats such as (text, sounds graphics or video). This informative tool
really doesn’t do anything until and unless we access through it. It considered
as huge passive repositories of information.
As a teacher we should be well trained and
accomplished on knowledge of ICT. When integrated with lesson informative tool
provide information for students to manipulate and from which knowledge can be
constructed. As a facilitator should guide them to learn and keep on track. For
example, teach students on plants let them search the information on internet,
watch movies and listen the sound. Same like that we learned how to edit movie by
using Camtasia app and learned how to teach them by video and sounds. After
learning about computer as an informative tool I realized that even if the
teacher is not physically present students can learn by watching video and
reading the text.
After
acquiring all the skills and knowledge on informative tool we did an activity
preparing a lesson plan by using computer as tool. Same like that when you are
into real field should let students do the activity implement what they have
learned in realistic. I learned that in this 21st century as a
teacher should teach the lesson through integration of ICT for lifelong
learning. Depending too much on internet information is not good should examine
and do ourselves.
